Today I would like to change things up and shine the spotlight on our beloved “Lucky”, everyone’s favorite Leprechaun, Aaron Pitcher. Why is it important to know our mascot? Well, we are just so in love with him that we can't just keep him to ourselves any longer. Aaron is a core member of this team and we are truly lucky to have him. Always smiling, ready to entertain, our Leprechaun is not only a TBL All-Star but one of the best mascots in the league. He cheers for our team louder than anyone else encouraging the crowd to join in. Lucky is truly the heart of this team and its' biggest fan!

Raised in Lebanon, Aaron was born August 17th 1996 to parents Scott Pitcher and Susan Lingeman. Aaron has 7 siblings, 2 sisters and 5 brothers. Aaron grew up playing sports like football and wrestling at his school Western Boone. He graduated in 2016. After High School Aaron went on to play football at a professional level for 2 years until an injury requiring surgery forced him to retire.

Lucky the Leprechaun explained to me his reasoning for joining the team, “I do this for fun and to showcase that no matter how old you get, you can still be a kid at heart.” Aaron is one of the very few who have been with the Leprechauns from the very beginning. He saw the team be announced and knew he had to get involved.

"Aaron just has done a spectacular job as Lucky. You know, it's not easy. He has developed this character from scratch and made it completely his own. We have only a few people that have been with the team in some capacity since the beginning. Aaron contacted me immediately when the team was announced and quickly made such an impression; his energy and enthusiasm has been unmatched since day one. He's really become a celebrity in his own right, and I am beyond proud of him. He's defined himself as one of the best mascots in the TBL, and I can't wait to see where he takes it from here."

While most people expect to go to a Leprechauns game to watch basketball and basketball only, Aaron as Lucky the Leprechaun puts on one extraordinary show and people are thrilled to watch. The crowd loves him. The kids adore him. He is a fantastic asset and friend to the entire organization. The fans love Aaron and he interacts with the crowd so naturally. It is like he was born for it. Staff members like myself, cherish our loveable mascot, we all know how fortunate we are to know him.

"Aaron was part of the team before there were even players. He enjoys being a role model to the kids. His performances, although they look just like mere fun you can tell he puts major effort into everything he does."

John Horlacher, Leprechaun Staff, says about Aaron “I feel the crowd really loves him. He’s always friendly and a little crazy (lol). He is always a joy to watch.” I agree John, crazy isn't always a bad thing, especially when you are entertaining a crowd. What will Lucky do next?

Another Leprechaun staff member, Casie Carter says that “Aaron always seems like he genuinely enjoys what he does. Everyone I know loves him and I don’t think we could be the Leprechauns without him, our Lucky.” Well, said Casie!

Although we mostly see him as Lucky, Aaron is a wonderful person off the court as well. The 26 year old, Boone County native, works for a towing company called Zore’s Inc. In his day job, he thinks it is fun when he is recognized. “Are you Lucky?, Lucky the Leprechaun is towing my car!” I know that would be a nice mood booster while my car had to be towed, hanging out with Lucky!
"He says all the time how crazy it is when people see him out in public but ask if he is lucky; they always get excited and say I knew it was you, definitely makes me smile every time for him."

Aaron has been with his beautiful Abbi for almost two years. You can see the love they share when you see them together. The two share a 1 year old son named Milo. “Milo has a plushie from the merch shop that he points to and says dada!” I asked Abbi if Aaron shares the enthusiasm and fun nature that Lucky portrays. "For the most part yes he is always that energetic and funny. There is never a dull moment in our household." Milo has a rather cool dad to look up to. I can only imagine how fun it is to have Aaron as a father.
"Milo loves it, anything that has to do with the team he walks around saying dada. I love that it allows Aaron to let his inner child out, most people think you should be an adult all the time. The games are really fun, lately I’ve been letting it be a kind of dad and baby night out thing since I know they love doing it together."

Family seems to be Aaron's true love. At the games you can see Abbi and Milo cheering along with Lucky. He is always beaming with pride anytime these two are near him. What a beautiful family you have Aaron. They are truly lucky to have each other. Just look at this adorable family!
"Our families have been around each other since almost elementary school but him and I never knew each other then in November of 2021 we met on Facebook dating then found out about Milo 3 months later. We are both pretty open books, we try to center everything around God first which I know a lot of people don’t like hearing but it’s true."

Our mascot Lucky is the most energetic mascot I have ever seen. He's everywhere, all at once. You can catch him launching t-shirts into the crowd, participating alongside the fans during the time out games, and on the sideline cheering loud for everyone to hear for his beloved team. He has a smile on his face for everyone he interacts with. He brought family fun, especially to the kiddos, to our basketball games. We are incredibly proud of who he is and what he represents. Without Lucky, our games would definitely not be as fun and entertaining. Thank you Lucky for being a constant throughout all of our seasons so far. Thank you for being you!
