Leprechaun's Spotlight - Eron Harris

Every week a spotlight is shown on one of our Leprechauns, this week we are focusing in on our #7 Eron Harris. Always smiling and encouraging, Eron is a ray of sunshine on even the cloudiest of days. Born November 26, 1993 in Indianapolis, Indiana to mother Marveda Saunders and father Eric Harris Sr. He grew up in Indianapolis, IN. Eron has 2 brothers (1 older and 1 younger) and one younger sister. He has a large family with both sides of his family heavy with aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is a true family man and loves to spend time with them.

Eron was born to play basketball. He grew up surrounded by it. Both of Eron's parents played high school basketball at Arsenal Tech, Aaron started playing basketball at 3 years old. He began playing AAU basketball in the second grade. On his team, our very own Zavier Turner #1! The team was coached by Zavier's father. So cool that they played together then and now they are on the court together as Leprechauns!

Eron returned to the US and played basketball in the Indianapolis City League, the Legends League, and the TBL. As a TBL vet he played for the Indiana All Americans and finally he is with us as our #7 Leprechaun! While playing for the All Americans, Eron met Leprechaun Head Coach John Benson, he was coach of the All Americans at the time.

"I met Eron two years ago while I was coaching the All Americans. He made an instant impression on his knowledge of the game and his talent. As we were preparing for the season, I knew right off the bat that Eron was one we needed to bring in as part of our team. He has been the leader we've been looking for on and off the floor. His high level experience at WVU and MSU has not only helped me as a coach but also his teammates as well continue to put things together. We as an organization are very thankful to have Eron representing the Lebanon Leprechauns!"

"Never stop learning, even if you are a vet. I already teach. I use that in basketball to share my knowledge. Beyond everything, I will always give everything I've got. I am going to give everything I got."

One of my favorite things while learning about Eron, is finding out his passion for art and creativity. Eron loves music almost as much as he loves basketball. He likes to listen to it, dance to it, and make his own by creating beats and vocals. Eron grew up around music. Eron's mother is an R&B and jazz singer, she also sings in the choir at church. Eron played the trumpet and percussion when he was younger. Eron listens to music from all over the world. He likes to study music of different cultures.
